Service Description
Highlights are a hair coloring technique used to add dimension and contrast to your hair by lightening specific strands or sections. This technique creates a multi-tonal look and can range from subtle to dramatic, depending on your desired outcome. Here’s a breakdown of highlights: Types of Highlights: Foil Highlights, Balayage, Ombre, Lowlights. Benefits of Highlights: Dimension: Highlights add depth and dimension to hair, making it look fuller and more textured. Brightness: They can brighten up the overall appearance of your hair and add a touch of radiance. Low Maintenance: Depending on the technique used, highlights can require less frequent touch-ups compared to full color changes, especially with techniques like balayage or ombre. Considerations: Hair Health: Frequent highlighting can affect hair health, so it’s important to use conditioning treatments and consult with a professional stylist to minimize damage. Color Matching: For the most natural look, highlights are often chosen to complement your base color and skin tone. Bleach and tone is a two-step hair coloring process used to achieve a light or platinum blonde color by first lightening the hair and then adjusting the tone to eliminate unwanted hues. Here’s a detailed look at each step: 1. Bleaching: Purpose: The primary goal of bleaching is to lift the natural color of the hair, removing pigments to achieve a lighter base. This is essential for reaching light blonde shades or for creating a blank canvas for further color application. Process: A bleaching agent, usually a mix of a developer (hydrogen peroxide) and a lightening powder, is applied to the hair. The developer activates the lightening powder, which breaks down the natural pigments in the hair, effectively lightening it. Duration: The bleach is left on the hair for a specified time, monitored to ensure the desired level of lightness is achieved. This time can vary based on hair type and the desired result. Considerations: Bleaching can be harsh on the hair and may cause damage, so it’s important to follow up with deep conditioning treatments and avoid over-processing. 2. Toning: Purpose: After bleaching, the hair may have unwanted undertones, such as yellow, orange, or brassy hues. Toning adjusts these undertones to achieve the desired shade, such as a cooler blonde or a more neutral tone.
